The Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) is extending a warm invitation to South African students to apply for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.   • Archives and Records Management
  • Conservation of the Built Environment (preventive conservation)

  • Fine Arts

  • Indigenous Knowledge Systems (IKS)
  • Museum Studies or Management and Curatorship
  • Palaeontology

DSAC Bursary Programme 2024 Coverage:

  • Maximum value: R110,000 per student
  • Expenses covered include full tuition fees, prescribed books, electronic devices (max. value R10,000), accommodation (max. value R50,000, where applicable), meals (max. value R18,500, where applicable), and transport (max. value R10,000, where applicable).

DSAC Bursary Programme 2024 Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following criteria to be eligible for the DSAC Bursary:

  • Be South African citizens
  • Be 40 years old or younger
  • Be currently in Matric (in 2023) or have completed Matric
  • Study or intend to study in one of the listed heritage-related programmes
  • Study at an accredited institution registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training
  • Maintain a strong academic record
  • Not be employed full-time in the private sector, government, or state agencies
  • Not earn more than R350,000 per annum
